Nominator's project description

Professor Kanatzidis is a leading scientist in the field of inorganic solid state chemistry. He has become internationally known by his outstanding work in the synthesis and physical investigation of novel inorganic chalcogenides, and he has developed new strategies for the preparation of crystalline and glassy advanced materials in this area. He has a considerable share in the development of inorganic material sciences in the US. He has developed close cooperation with research groups in Münster and München and he will be centrally involved as a partner in the work of the SFB 458 in Münster.
